  3. Stress • Defined as emotional and physiological distress experienced when exposed to two conditions: • Interpersonal and environmental factors perceived as exceeding ability to achieve. • Situation perceived as sufficiently threatening to overwhelm resources to handle

  5. Stressor • During “typical” days, what stressors do people generally have? • During times of crisis, what new stressors are added to the mix? • How does a “stressor” become problem? • What turns a stressor into stress or distress?
