Proposal Developers • Town of Hempstead Local Workforce Investment Board (LWIB) on behalf of the Long Island Business Services Team (LIBST) Executive Committee • LIBST includes: • Town of Hempstead/City of Long Beach LWIB • Town of Oyster Bay Consortium LWIB • Suffolk County LWIB • New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions (DEWS) • NYSDOL Division of Workforce Innovations (DOWI) • Long Island – Regional Adult Education Network • New York State Empire State Development • Others Long Island Regional Innovation Grant Project

  4. Management Team • Town of Hempstead Department of Occupational Resources (Grant Recipient/Fiscal Agent) • Contractors: • The Long Island Forum for Technology, Inc. • The Center for Governmental Research in partnership with Hofstra University • The Center for Essential Management Services

  5. Core Leadership Group • Long Island Business Services Team Executive Committee • Oversees Innovation Work Group • Also oversees the 13N Project and the Connect Long Island Partnership Long Island Regional Innovation Grant Project

Partners/Stakeholders/General Public • Partners are represented on the Innovation Work Group • Stakeholders are involved through the Connect Long Island Partnership • 13N and LIRIG are the two main pillars that support the Connect Long Island Initiative according to the Workforce Innovation through Regional Economic Development (WIRED) Model • General public receives the benefits of regional economic transformation and innovation

Tasks/Status Create skills data base program/Completed Conduct SWOT Analysis/In Process Map downsizings, plant closings, WARN and TAA events/On-Going Meet with Executive Committee to evaluate progress/In Process Innovation Workgroup Meetings/In Process Prepare Innovation Plan/To Be Completed Crosswalk skills inventory data base with 13N skills demand data and identify skill gaps/To Be Completed 7 Long Island Regional Innovation Grant Project

Tasks/Status (Continued) Meet with Connect Long Island Full Partnership (including K through 12) to share project findings and receive comments and feedback/To Be Completed Revise Innovation Plan based on feedback/To Be Completed Post data on web site/In Process Alignment of the service process for affected employees, where feasible, across the Long Island Region and in coordination with the New York City Region/To Be Completed Transformation of our reemployment system into a regional innovation system that aligns economic development, education and workforce initiatives/To Be Completed Prepare final report/To Be Completed 8 Long Island Regional Innovation Grant Project
