  6. Wow factor As you walk into the Depot Museum, you are greeted by a life-size painting of the Louisiana Purchase landmark. At first glance, it appears that it is a computer generated enlargement but after further investigation I discovered that is was actually a hand-painted mural measuring 8ft tall and 24ft long. It was painted by an Arkansas State University professor by the name of Roger Carisle. The mural, entitled "Baseline in Louisiana Purchase State Park," celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase. After discovering it was hand-painted over a 4 month period, all I could say was WOW!
