  3. Life NaumNeemia Pevsner was born on August 5th, 1890 in Bryansk, Russia . When he started making sculptures in 1915, he changed his name to Naum Gabo. He died August 23rd, 1977 in Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.

  4. Details The artwork is a sculpture. It is called “Construction in a Niche” and it was presented by Naum Gabo in 1977. The subject of the artwork is a still life. For this artwork, the artist used plastic, cork, metal and wood.

  5. My Thoughts I think that this piece of art is an abstract piece, because there is no specific object that looks like this. Also, it is hard to imagine something that this would be useful for in real life. I chose this artwork because it used common shapes like cones, squares and circles in a new way, which made them thought-provoking and interesting. I think that the artist is trying express that in construction, there are many new, artistic designs and he tried to portray them all in one artwork, hence the name.

  6. Sources of Information I chose these websites because they looked like reliable sources of information, especially since one of them is from a museum that has hosted Naum Gabo’s work. Also, the other website is devoted to Naum Gabo and his work.
