What are we looking for? • Quality, Performance and compatibility with Sony Tablet S & Sony Tablet P High quality apps that perform great on Sony Tablet S & Sony Tablet P, including fast performance and playback, elegant and smooth transitions, connectivity & interaction modes that work well, with no crashes or bugs. • Innovation and Creativity Creative use cases for SonyTabletthat are able to capture the public imagination, apps that are unique or better than existing alternatives, innovative uses of Adobe AIR and the Sony Tablet P’s split screen. • Overall User ExperienceThe judges will favor apps with an engaging user experience, good design and usability, visual appeal, and that are easy to use and provide user value. *Judges will look favorably on apps targeting additional screens, such as Sony Ericsson Android smartphones, Sony VAIO desktop computers and Sony televisions with Google TV support.

Devices will ship throughout the contest, the last shipment will be October 10th. • Prerelease access** to latest Adobe AIR runtime • SWC-based ActionScript Library for Sony Tablet P detection and • Accompanying documentation • Extended trial serial numbers for Flash Professional CS5.5 (6 months) and Flash Builder 4.5 (valid until February 29) *Requires signing an product loan and non-disclosure agreement with Sony due to the prerelease nature of devices. Devices will only be shipped to valid addresses in Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, UK, and USA. S and P prototype devices are leased from Sony and should be returned 4 weeks after receipt. **Requires signing a non-disclosure agreement with Adobe due to the prerelease nature of software.

  15. The Flash Stage AIR and Flash provide a single screen output (“single head”), as does Flash tooling. You will need to imagine, or simulate a virtual split on the Stage object. During startup of your app, you will need to check for the presence of more than one screen and layout as required. For interactions, it may also be appropriate to only accept events from “Screen 1”, or a Player 1 metaphor. 800 1024 480 1280 480

  16. Device Detection For the Sony Tablet P and Sony Tablet S, Finalists will gain access to a SWC-based ActionScript Library used to identify when a device has multiple screens. This will provide information about the screens, layouts, sizes, DPI etc that will be necessary for optimizing your application.
