Getting Acquainted Find your partner and get seated together This should only take about 3 minutes.
Getting Acquainted • On your paper, write the following question in SECTION 1/WHO: Whom do you admire the most? Explain Why?
Getting Acquainted • On your paper, write the following question in SECTION 2/WHAT: What was your most memorable school year? Explain Why?
Getting Acquainted • On your paper, write the following question in SECTION 3/WHEN: When you have “free-time”, what do you like to do? Explain Why?
Getting Acquainted On your paper, write the following question in SECTION 4/WHERE: Where have you traveled to that would be fun to visit again? Explain Why?
Getting Acquainted • On your paper, write the following question in SECTION 3/WHY: Why do you like/dislike _____? • You fill in the blank. Explain Why?
Getting Acquainted Now, you get to practice your journalism skills by interviewing your partner. Ask your partner each of the 5 questions, and record their responses in the appropriate section on your paper. Encourage your partner to explain their answer.
Getting Acquainted Read all of your partners answers, and circle the answer you liked the best, want to know more about or surprised you. Then on the back of your paper, write 3 more questions which focuses on the answer that you circled. Write a question in each section: 6, 7 and 8. Make sure the questions you write for your partner are specific enough to help them give detailed answers.
Getting Acquainted Interview your partner once again, asking them your new questions. Record their answers in Sections 6, 7, 8. Write their answers exactly as stated. Tell your partner to give detailed answers because you will use this information to write a well developed piece of writing.
Getting Acquainted Using the answers to the questions, write 2 or more well developed paragraphs about your partner. Get the readers attention immediately by beginning with a “zippy” opener or an interesting fact. These writings will be used to introduce your partner so…Do Your BEST!
