Solve 8 + 5c = 7c – 2

Solve by Grouping • 1) Distribute first • 2) Combine Like Terms • 3) Then get all the variables on one side and the constants on the other.
Example 5m- 3 = 1m + 7 8 8 2 8

Example 12y + 6 = 6(2y + 1)
