Judaism is the oldest monotheistic religion in the world, founded over 4000 years ago by Abraham and his descendants. Worship revolves around a God named Jehovah/Yahweh, and the symbol of the religion is the Star of David. Judaism is based on the Torah, the first five books of the Bible, and worship takes place in synagogues/temples led by rabbis. Jews believe in one God, follow the 613 commandments found in the Torah, and have a rich history dating back to the Hebrews and the nation of Israel. Today, Judaism is practiced by approximately 15-16 million people worldwide.
