Who are we?

Who are we?. We grow corn, beans, squash and sunflowers in our large gardens. We are semi-sedentary so we do not live in one place year-round, but we are not always on the move either. We make boats with the raw hides of bison. We depend on the bison for many of our tools.

  2. We grow corn, beans, squash and sunflowers in our large gardens.

  4. We make boats with the raw hides of bison. We depend on the bison for many of our tools.

  5. The women of the tribe build and own the great earth lodges we live in along the Missouri River and its tributaries.

  6. We are the Mandan of the upper Great Plains.
