Christ’s answer points to the spirituality of the Law: • 1st Commandment – Rich young ruler • 6th Commandment – Anger • 7th Commandment – Imagination Christians are called to KEEP the Law in its deepest specific and spiritual application
The Law of God has two functions: • Convict of sin • Teach holiness
We’re talking about the fruit, not the root of our salvation
Psalm 1:2 How often have you spent your sleepless hours thinking about the Law of God? What are its principles? How is the Law of God practical to everyday life?
Secular, Post Modern, Existentially based individuals are most interested in the practical “it works for me” proof. • The “So What?” question is paramount Adventists need to practice (demonstrate) and correctly preach the Law of God.
Life Principle # 1 PRIORITIES (What would Jesus do? SC 70. Make God # 1 in all activities.)
Life Principle # 2 Spirituality Listen with your heart Stop fixing & listen. The ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Life Principle # 3 Reverence Make a difference between the holy and the unholy. Respect the property of God
Life Principle # 4 Worship Our origin. Our relationship to the creation – environmental issues. Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer – trust!
Life Principle # 5 Respect for Social Structure Family, Community, City, Province/State, National, International.
Life Principle # 6 Respect for Life Protect life! Human, environmental, community and personal health
Life Principle # 7 Respect for Relationships Marital, friendships, family, community, cultural, business, national, international
Life Principle # 8 Respect for Property All material or creative giftedness. The basis of Stewardship.
Life Principle # 9 Transparency, Openness, Honesty
Life Principle # 10 Contentment Gratitude, Joy, Satisfaction Paul: Whatever state I am in, I am content

We must make the law of God practical, appealing and applicable to all dimensions of life. The world is hungry to know how to live.
