  6. Finding out and giving the date • To find out today’s date, you ask: • ¿Cuál es la fecha? • In English, you would respond “Today is September 7th” right? In Spanish, the date is actually reversed : • Hoy es el siete de septiembre.(Today is the seventh of September).

Finding out and giving the date • The full date is written out like this: • El ___(date)___ de ___(month)___ del ___(year)___. • For example, October 3rd, 2013 would be written as: • “Eltresde octubre del dos mil trece.” • The only date that doesn’t use a number is the first of each month. We say el primero: • “El primerode octubre del dos mil trece.”
