  2. Introduction • Multiplication Dice is a creative and interesting way for children to stay actively involved with their multiplication facts.

  3. Standard, Goal, and Objective • Standard: 4.1.3.d: Multiply and divide efficiently and accurately with single-digit and multiple digit whole numbers. • Goal: Students will understand how to multiply single and multiple digit whole numbers. • Objective: TLW be able to multiply various numbers by rolling dice and multiplying numbers presented by the dice.

  4. Materials • Dice • Flat Surface • Pencil • Paper

  5. Directions • Review or introduce how to multiply whole numbers. • Take the dye with the #1 on it and roll it on a flat surface. This dye will represent your numerator. • Take the dye with the #2 on it and roll it on a flat surface. This dye will represent your denomenator. • On a separate sheet of paper have the student or students write the problem our and find the solution. • After you have mastered 2 dice then move on to 3 dice. Dice #1 and #2 will represent your numerator. Dye #3 will represent your denomenator. • Have the children add more dice as they complete each of the previous steps to mastery.
