Solar Power By Francis
How does Solar Panels work? Solar panels can harness the power of the sun and transforms into electricity, as you can see in the diagram the photons in the sunlight hit the electrons. The electron make a flow that has enough power to make electricity. Then the electricity loads onto a solar inverter that can be used for electronics. A solar panel is made of metal conductor strips, n-type silicon, p-type silicon and metal coating at the back.
How are Solar Panels made? Solar panels are made by the silicon to be cut into disks, then the disks are polished so the machine is not damaged in the process, then the disks are laid down and metal conductor stripes are laid on the disks. And then they are aligned in a thin grid, after the polishing a layer of glass is bonded to the silicon disks. Then a expensive thermally conductive cement is put on the silicon disks so that the solar panel does not over heat when absorbing energy.
What are the advantages of solar power? Advantages: • Stopping pollution. • Reducing global warming. • Free energy. Disadvantages: • Very expensive. • Hard to install. • Works only when the sun is out.
Who created the Solar Panels? Alexandre Edmond Becquerel (bottom right)found out about the effect on photovoltaic which explains how electricity can be generated by sunlight, he claimed that “shining light on an electrode would create a electron flow. Then over 100 years Russell Ohl (bottom left)created the solar cell, then shortly after the invention of the transistor.
How can solar power make a sustainable community? Solar power can make a sustainable community by reducing a lot of bad things such as pollution, global warming and saving the ozone layer.Solar power can help our earth survive, this is why I think we should all use solar energy to make a sustainable community.
What in the sunlight can be turned into energy? In the sunlight “photons” make a electron flow by hitting the electrons into the other layers, photons can make electricity/ Without it we could be out of energy!
Thank You!! Thank you for watching I hope you have learnt a lot about solar power!
