History The current Basilica was built to replace The old one that was ruined by a fire on March 29, 1922.
Architecture • Built by Mr. MaximeRoisin of Paris and Mr. Louis N. Audet of Sherbrooke. • Construction began July 6, 1923 and parts of it are still not complete. • Constructed in the form of a Latin cross. • Neo-Romanesque in stlye. • Granite came from the quarry at Saint-Sébastien, in Beauce, QC.
Mosaics All mosaics are dedicated to St. Anne, the grandmother of Jesus. The mosaics are the work of Mr. AugusteLabouret.
Other Art Stained-glass Windows Sculptures • There are 240 stained-glass windows • Mr. Émile Brunet built the stone statues and Mr. Franz Moroder built the wooden ones.
