BLIGHT-MOP • Pan-European project on late BLIGHT: Development of a systems approach for the Management of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) in EU Organic Potato production in the absence of copper fungicides
Cu fungicides in the EU • Cu use expected to be banned end of March 2002 in in EU organic production systems • Regulation amended because ‘these substances are, at this point in time, indispensable to the cultivation of various crops and that only by increased research efforts will it be possible to find medium or long-term appropriate alternative solutions’ • Until 31 December 2005, 8kg copper/ha/year permitted and from 1 January 2006, 6kg/ha/year, but could be further reduced
