  6. WEIGHT GAIN, g (1-21 days): • •NORMAL QUALITY CORN • During the period of 1 to 21 days old, the chicks that received additives in their ration, presented higher weight gain when compared to basal feed (P<0.05). Among the treatments containing BIOLASE, the best results of weight gain were obtained with 500 g/ton. of product. • • LOW QUALITY CORN • Using low quality corn, there was an improvement on weight gain with the inclusion of pre-biotics and avilamycin, and the treatments containing 0.5 kg of BIOLASE (722g), avilamycin (718g), and 2 kg Bio-Mos (718g) stood out as the best results.

  7. FEED CONVERSION (1-21 days): •NORMAL QUALITY CORN - The usage of additives improved feed conversion (P<0.05) and the treatments containing BIOLASE0.5kg (1.557), BioMos 2 kg (1.557) and avilamycin (1.554) were the best results. • LOW QUALITY CORN - In this case the improvement on feed conversion was even more important. The best result among all was found with BIOLASE0.5 kg.

  8. WEIGHT GAIN, g (1-42 days): • •NORMAL QUALITY CORN • -Using additives improved the weight gain (p<0.05), and the best performance was obtained with BIOLASE 0.5 kg, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin. • • LOW QUALITY CORN • As with normal quality corn, the weight gain was higher when • additives were used (p<0.05) and the best results were achieved when using BIOLASE0.5 kg, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin. • FEED CONVERSION (1-42 days): • •NORMAL QUALITY CORN & LOW QUALITY CORN • Feed conversion was better when additives were used (p<0.05). The best results were achieved when using BIOLASE0.5 kg, avilamycin and BioMos 2 kg.

  9. Treatment Normal Quality Corn Low Quality Corn Average YIELD FACTOR (1-42 days): (YF=DAWG x livability x alimentary efficiency x 100) DAWG= daily average weight gain, Livability = 100/mortality , Alimentary Efficiency = 1/ feed conversion Table 05– Yield factor of broilers, 1-42 days old. 10. YIELD FACTOR (1-42 days): •NORMAL QUALITY CORN -The yield factor increased (p<0,05) on broilers which received diets containing additives. The best performances were obtained with usage of BIOLASE500 g, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin. •LOW QUALITY CORN -In this case, the results for YF was even sharper. Once again the best results were obtained using BIOLASE500 g, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin.

  11. CONCLUSIONS • The usage of additives on broiler feeds improved the performance parameters, such as weight gain and feed conversion when compared to control treatment. • The treatment containing BIOLASE0.5 kg, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin presented the lowest feed conversion rate (p<0.05). • The treatment containing BIOLASE0.5 kg, BioMos 2 kg and avilamycin presented the best yield factor (p<0.05). • The right inclusion rate for BIOLASEis 0.5 kg per ton of feed, under present test conditions.
