What does the IBO believe international education to be? • The IBO aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people that help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. • The this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. • These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right

Our students • طلابنا • ماهي الصفات التي ترغب أن تكون في ولدك كطفل و كبالغ؟ • اكتب صفات مختلفة • على ورقة صغيرة لاصقة وارفقها إلى شخص (الخطوط العريضة). • What qualities would you like your child to have as a child and an adult? • Write a different quality on a sticky note and attach it to a person (outline).

The INTERNATIONAL MINDED RAKESS student • ما الذي يجعل طفلك طفل دولي ؟ • على اطراف الورقة دون افكارك . • كمجموعة متوافقةالآراء على النقاط الاساسية التي تجعل طلاب مدرستنا دوليين - الرجاء كتابة هذة النقاط على شارة المدرسة. • العودة مرة آخرى لباقي المجموعة. • What makes your child an international child? • On the consensus board – write your ideas in one of the body out lines around the outside of the sheet of paper. • As a group come to a consensus on the KEY points of what makes the students at our school international – write these points on the RAKESS badge outline. • Share back to the rest of the group.

What is RAKESS doing to promote international mindedness. • صفات المتعلم هى مفتاح منهجنا و التدريس والتعلم في الفصول و عبر مدارسنا. • نادي اللغة الأم سوف يبدأ أيام الآحاد في يناير • ويديره الوالدين و المعلمين. • الطلاب مدعوون لجلب كتب في لغتهم الأم وقراءتها في الصف. • محاولة بناء بنك لموارد اللغة الأم مثل. جمع الكتب والألعاب. • العديد من وحداتنا عن التحقيق تحتفل وتعلم طلابنا حول العالم. • Learner Profile is Key to our curriculum and the teaching and learning in our classrooms and across our schools. • Mother-tongue clubs starting up on Sunday’s in January run by both parents and teachers. • Children are invited to bring in books in their mother-tongue to read in the class. • Trying to build a bank of mother-tongue resources eg. collect books and games. • Many of our units of Inquiry celebrate and educate our students about the world.

  12. What, then, is a PYP school? • A PYP school is a school that, regardless of location, size or constitution, strives towards developing an internationally minded person… a person who demonstrates the attributes of the IB learner profile (MPYPH p. 3)
