  5. H.O.P.E!!! Hispanic Organization Promoting Education is hosting their 3rd annual Leadership Conference! When: March 29th, 2014 from 7:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m Where: Meadow Creek High School 4455 Steve Reynolds Boulevard Norcross , GA 30093 High school students are invited to attend! College/Exhibitor Fair with colleges, universities,    nonprofit organizations, and corporate/community partners. 3. Empowering and motivational keynote speaker. 4. 3rd Annual HoPe Dance Contest. 5. Energy, fun, and an unforgettable experience!

  7. HOPE Dance contest The HoPe TRILOGY Dance Contest is the third annual high school dance contest hosted by HoPe, Inc. The contest will consist of talented high school students across Georgia who are able to DANCE! This contest attracts over 1000 online votes via the HoPeFacebook Page. Students vote to select the Top 5 groups who perform live at the 3rd Annual HoPe Leadership Conference: TRILOGY. One group/participant will go home with the grand cash prize, plus multiple other awards. Eligibility: There is no discrimination based on race/ethnicity, All contestants must be current high school students, and High school students must be active participants of the conference.   8. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!! Valentines Day is February 14. This day is set aside for exchanges of lovewith sweethearts, friends and family. There are various theories on the origin of Valentine's Day, but the most popular dates back to the time of the Roman Empire during the reign of Claudius II, 270 A.D. Claudius didn't want men to marry during wartime because he believed single men made better soldiers. Bishop Valentine went against his wishes and performed secret wedding ceremonies. For this, Valentine was jailed and then executed by order of the Emperor on Feb. 14. While in jail, he wrote a love note to the jailor's daughter, signing it, "From your Valentine." Sound familiar?

  9. FACTS In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression "to wear your heart on your sleeve." In 1537, England's King Henry VII officially declared Feb. 14 the holiday of St. Valentine's Day In the 1800’s doctors would prescribe chocolate to patients who were suffering from broken hearts and even now many women find comfort in a box of chocolates when dealing with heartbreak
