  2. 2H2O, 5CO2…A number before the compound shows the number of molecules. So, 2H2O has 4 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms. • (NH4)3PO4…Some compounds are made up of unequal numbers of two different molecules. Here, there are 3 NH4 molecules and 1 PO4 molecules
