Organisation Structure The way in which the staff of an organisation are arranged (chain of command). • Functional Structure • Traditional hierarchy where staff are organised by their function within the organisation • Divisional Structure • Staff are organised based on some dividing feature (e.g. locality, specific product) • Matrix Structure • A blend of Functional and Divisional Structures

Organisation Purpose • What should a mission statement include? • It should identify the means by which the organization or institution intends to carry out its function in society. • It should excite and inspire those to whom it applies. • It should formulate the function that the organization or institution wants to have for each type of stakeholder: employees, customers and consumers, suppliers, investors, and the public.
