PSNC was established in 1993 and is a R&D center PSNC has participated in about 30 FP projects, serving as a WP leader in most of them PSNC was the coordinator of GridLab and is the coordinator of Phosphorus PSNC is the operator of the PIONIER national optical network (over 4000 km of fibers, additional 2000 km are planned) and of the POZMAN metropolitan network Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center
