Advocacy Update Funding - MBC Appropriations • Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09) • $100 K Provided in Congressionally Directed Funding through DOL • Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10) Process • New House Rules • Non-profit requests only – Dems. • No requests – Reps. • Status FY10 Requests • Continuation of FY09 initiative • On requests lists for both House and Senate ($400k)

Advocacy Update Framing the National Discussion NCAT’s Piece of the Puzzle • NCAT operates the first national replication program in the U.S. dedicated to brokering the collective influences of the public, private and social sectors in urban communities in order to respond to the needs of the poor.

  6. Advocacy Update Framing the National Discussion The Social Value • Create an institution within an environment of poverty where people foster a sense of community, where they are valued and treated with dignity.
