After school activities for 4-12 year olds. primary and/or secondary Anglia schools Anglia teachers / native speakers > minimum requirements 1 teacher or assistant per 10-16 Cool! English after school
Three groups related to the group system in Dutch Primary schools: 4 – 6 years old > no writing 7 – 9 years old > start reading / writing10- 12 years old > writing 10 meetings of 1 hour / 1,5 hour for 10-12 years old Cool! English after school
All in English Materials / lesson plans provided by Anglia EU Website supported course Teacher training before starting Cool! English after school
What makes Cool! an Anglia activity? All in English Based on Anglia Step by step approach Learn English through fun activities and in a communicative setting Anglia schools native speakers or minimum of proficiency level supported by special Cool! website involve parents certificate of participation
Cool! English after school • Three age groups • Starlets > 4-6 year olds • Bright Sparks > 7-9 year olds • Super Stars > 10-12 year olds
Starlets ( 4-6 years old): • listening and speaking activities around 10 themes • daily life vocabulary • songs and chants • lots of games • end performance • vocabulary and grammar based on Anglia’s first Step and Junior level
Bright Sparks (7-9 years old): • mainly listening and speaking activities • start writing and reading words • 10 themes • songs and chant • riddles • games and crafts • end performance • vocabulary and grammar based on Anglia’s Junior and Primary level
Super Stars (10-12 years old) • Working to preliminary maybe even elementary level • around a thematic unit • Writing and reading exercises involved • Vocabulary / grammar games • End assignment >performance • Can join other EU Anglia Activities like angli@pals
For each group and each of the 10 topics there will be: 1. Word/grammar list for teachers 2. Five activities: lesson plans and worksheets3. Songs4. Chants5. Background information6. Flashcards8. Puzzles on the website 9. Web links on the website
