  6. Do I have to give her breakfast in bed? What do you mean “do I have to”?There’s no law making me!There’s the law of love. What do you mean?Does she love having breakfast in bed?Yup – she does.Do you love her?I do.Don’t you want to do what she wants?Usually, yes.Not always?Well ….When you don’t want to make breakfast in bed is that because she doesn’t want it?Er, no … it’s because I don’t want to make it.

  7. Why is that? Have you stopped loving her? No …So what you want is more important than what she wants? You call that love?Well, put like that … I suppose you have a point. So there’s the law of love: we should love the Lord first, and others next.Ah, yes. So you ought to want to do what she wants … And there’s something wrong with me if I don’t? Possibly. Probably. Definitely. So what might be wrong with me? (if I don’t want to meet with other Christians …)

  8. 1 INDIVIDUALISM (10) Reconciled! Jesus and me “Made holy through … the sacrifice of Jesus” Personal … but not private

  9. 2 TRIUMPHALISM (14) So there’s ABSOLUTELY nothing left for me to do …

  10. 3 DISCOURAGEMENT (25) GIVING UP ENCOURAGEMENT How can you encourage, or be encouraged, on your own? “Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds!” How can you spur one another on, on your own??

  11. It may keep you going … but it won’t help anyone else! DOES THAT BOTHER YOU?
