Equity Scholarships • BBM Youth & Aboriginal Scholarships - externally funded • students15 to 23 years • up to $400 per student (based on individual need) • discreet program where teachers/ counsellors identify students in need • Exceptional financial hardship • Demonstrated effort & commitment in previous study

  5. Equity scholarships 2. Sydney Institute Student Association (SISA)Internally funded by SI Student Association • Open age scholarship • Exceptional financial hardship • For amounts up to $200 • Preference given to refugee students

Refugee Student Assistance Scheme (RSAS) Externally funded by NSW Teachers Federation and DET NSW • For refugees in first 2 yrs of eligible visa sub-class • Must hold permanent or temporary humanitarian, protection, or bridging visas • Must be in first year of enrolment at SI course • For amounts up to $200

GREAT NEWS! – 457 Industry Scholarships New scholarships available from sub class 457 Work Visa employer contributions Funding for identified industry areas Targets students facing exceptional financial hardship Aims to develop human capital in identified industry areas Covers course fees and approved course related expenses / APPLICATIONS CLOSE - Mon 8 August, 2011
