Digital Natives • WHO ARE THEY? They’re our students today. • WHAT DO THEY DO? • use the digital language of computers, video games and the Internet. • are used to receiving information really fast. • like to parallel process and multi-task. • prefer their graphics before their text rather than the opposite. • prefer random access (like hypertext). • They function best when networked.
Digital Immigrants • WHO ARE THEY? • People who were not born into the digital world • They have become fascinated by and adopted many or most aspects of the new technology. • They always retain, to some degree, their "accent," that is, their foot in the past.
