Workbooks, Worksheets, Windows • Click Insert, Worksheet; Edit, Delete Sheet • Shift-click worksheet tabs to select more than one • Double-click the worksheet tab to rename it • Press Ctrl-Page Up or Down to view another sheet • Click File, New to create a new workbook • Click Window, New for additional window views • Click Window, Arrange to see several at once Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts

Page Setup • Page • Orientation: Portrait, Landscape • Scaling: % of normal size, fit to # of pages; Paper Size • Margins • Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Header, Footer • Center on page: Horizontally, Vertically • Sheet • Print Area, Print Gridlines, Rows/Columns to Repeat Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts

Chart Wizard • Click Insert, Chart or the Chart Wizard button • Complete the following four steps: • 1. Chart Type (and Sub-type) • 2. Chart Source Data (data range, series) • 3. Step 1 of 4: Chart Types • Column: vertical bars (rectangles) • Bar: horizontal bars • Line: connected dots • Pie: circle divided into sections • Scatter (XY): points with X and Y values • Area: solid fill beneath lines • Doughnut: pies with holes in the middle Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts
Chart Sub-types • Stacked: 2 or more series added • 100%: stacked and shown as percent of whole • Exploded: pie sections separated for emphasis • 3-D visual effect: looks solid instead of flat • Markers: large shapes at data points • Straight or smoothed lines: connect data points • Button to press and hold to view sample Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts
Step 2 of 4: Chart Source Data • Data range: can be selected now or before wizard • Series in rows or columns • Series list • Add and Remove buttons • Series name • Series values • Category (X) axis labels Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts
Step 3 of 4: Chart Options • Titles: chart title, XYZ (category/label/value) axes • Gridlines: X/Y, major/minor • Legend: show legend, placement left/right/etc. • Data labels: none, show value/label/percent/etc. • Data table: show data table Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts
Step 4 of 4: Chart Location • New Sheet • You can print the chart without the data • You can see and print the entire chart on one page • Object in current (or other) worksheet • You can resize the chart • You can print the chart with the data Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts

Chart Toolbar • Chart objects menu: select part of chart to format • Properties button: format chart objects • Chart type menu: select a different type of chart • Legend button: hide/show legend • Data table button: hide/show data table • By row/column button: change data series Management Information Systems I: Spreadsheets III: Layout and Charts
