Emergency Action Plan The following document has been completed by the Academy Doctor (Youth Development Rule 103.5) and shared to all relevant Academy staff;
Medical • There will be a Physiotherapist available on site and they will have access to a fully equipped medical room. The EAP is attached to all match day confirmation emails and we request that your staff are fully aware of the following actions; • The EAP has been developed at the new training complex by FTFC H&S Executive. The EAP has been formulated and discussed with the Club Doctor, as well as all Medical and Emergency Services provisions to ensure that it is suitable for dissemination to every person working and visiting the facility. • In agreement with the Technical Board and Academy Management Team the following Action Plan will be implemented in the case of emergency;
Location of Defibrillator • There will 2 Defibrillators held on account by the FTFC Academy and these will be available for the games programme; • One Defibrillator will be located with the Academy Physio located at the medical point in the main pitch area. • The second Defibrillator will be located at the Main Reception at the Training Ground (Poolfoot) • Each member of staff will be trained in the use of the Defibrillator as part of the Medical CPD programme (BFAS)
Fire and Evacuation • The fire and evacuation procedure will be distributed by the H&S officer who will also be on duty and visible throughout the building during the course of Academy fixtures. Each member of FTFC Academy staff and visiting club staff will be required to be fully conversant with the protocols for fire and evacuation • In the event of the fire alarm sounding, all personal are to gather at the No.2 4G pitch, with player registers taken to confirm player attendance • Visiting teams are to manage their own registers and player attendance • Players are NOT to gather in the car parks as this will hinder the arrival of other players, staff and spectators.
Injury to Players Minor Injury to Player • The team coach who is BFAS qualified is to deal with the non-serious injury seeking high medical intervention if required Serious Injury to player • The player will be assessed by the Team Physio at that specific game then further guidance from the onsite Senior Physio as to further medial protocols • The Emergency services will be called to respond as required. The senior Physio on duty will determine if the casualty is to be moved to the medical room or left in location until the EMS arrive • There will be a basket stretcher and FRAC PACK at the main medical point. • The Emergency Services are 20 minutes away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
