WHY • Purpose - To promote sporting activities for students and staff • Objectives • To apply skills taught during PE lessons through inter-class competitions • To promote interaction between staff and students through “Staff vs Students” games • To provide opportunities for students to learn to play Tennis and Squash.

Profiles of the Speakers • Prevention of Sports Injury Ms Wong Shi Yun Senior Physiotherapist Ms Wong Shiyun is a graduate from University of South Australia with a Master in Musculoskeletal and Sport Physiotherapy, and is also a trained Clinical Pilates instructor. She has worked with patients ranging from acute setting to community setting. She has experience working with patients with sports injuries as well as neck and back pain management, and also with sports coverage. She has given inhouse and public talks on weight loss and exercises. Currently, she is working in KhooTeckPuat Hospital, Alexandra Health, Sports Medicine Centre. • Sports nutrition and healthy eating Pamela WongSenior Dietitian Pamela graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from National University of Singapore, and Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University in Australia. She is an Accredited Dietitian of Singapore with the Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association. Pamela is an avid long distance runner and keeps up to date on sports nutrition with Sports Dietitians Australia. She conducts group sessions such as Supermarket Tours, cooking demos and public talks in sports nutrition and chronic diseases.

Admin Instructions • Personal belongings • Do not bring valuables or excessive cash. • Do not leave them unattended. • Ask your friends to look after them if you are involved in activities.
Admin Instructions • Safety • Please seek appropriate shelter during inclement weather. • If the PSI reading is greater than 60, students with respiratory problem will be excused from all outdoor activities. • If the PSI reading is greater than 80, all outdoor activities will have to be stopped. • Report all physical injuries to the PE teachers and/or seek the St John First Aiders for help. • An Ambulance will be stationed near Tower Block Area. • Drink sufficient water. • No heavy meal 1-2 hours before intense exercise or competition.
Competition Instructions • Sec 1 & 3 Inter-Class games • Please refer to the respective schedules for each game • The order of play will be determined by drawing of lots, carried out by the PE teachers. • Appointed Class Team Captains will be responsible for ensuring that all members of the team report to the respective Teacher-in-charge 15 minutes before the start of the competition.
Students Competition Format • The results of the Inter-Class competitions would determine the Overall Class Champion for Sec One & Three. For the competitions : • 5 points would be awarded to the winner, followed by • 3 points to the 1st runner-up, • 2 points to the 2nd runner-up and • 1 point to all participating classes. • 1 point will be deducted for class/es which has/have signed up but did not turn up for competition.
