  2. Objectives • To propose a mathematical model for lost foam casting • To develop a numerical method to approximate it

  3. Key numerical ingredients • Level set method to track the interface • Domain decomposition thermal coupling • Fixed-mesh ALE method to cope with the domain deformation • Stabilized finite element methods (flow equations, heat equation, level set transport)
