  7. Personal/Social • The opportunity to represent the civilian disabled veterans became very important to him after his son died during his special forces training in Ft. Bragg June 2008. • He is a member of “Gold Star Families” and gives free legal advice to parents and family of veterans who were killed in action or who died in the line of duty like his son.

  8. MMPA • We routinely handle cases for adults and children who have physical disabilities and impairments, psychiatric and mental disorders, bipolar disorders, deafness, blindness, HIV/AIDS, cancer, epilepsy, schizophrenia, severe depression, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome, herniated disc, fibromyalgia, lupus, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, stroke, seizures, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, heart disease, lung disease, pulmonary dysfunction, COPD, Meniere's disease, Crohn's disease, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome/IBS, MRSA, myasthenia gravis, severe headache and sleep disorders, amputation and vocational disabilities.

  9. Most Difficult • In the past twenty years Social Security has privatized the means by which a social security disability case is proved. Unlike in the past where the SSA would be responsible for gathering your information and especially medical records, today the SSA relies on claimants to pay for and obtain their own medical and hospital records. Even so, according to the Congressional Office of Management and Budget, it costs the SSA on the average $10,000.00 to bring a social security case to hearing. The challenge for us as practitioners is how to effectively obtain, gather, collate, digest, and electronically file the claimants medical records in a cost effective matter within the confines of ethics and the fee cap that is placed by law on our services to the claimant. After prosecuting over 4,000 cases in the past twenty years, we believe that we have learned to do a pretty good job of it.

  10. Best Part • Helping those who are denied their rights by a monolithic and unresponsive government • “Doing the work we do for the disabled is more a calling than a livelihood. It is what gets us up in the morning. We have never had more meaningful work and do not expect that we ever will. Our clients need help and we will help as many as we professionally and possibly can. Other than laying down one’s life for his fellow man, there is perhaps, no more noble a calling”.
