Market town from the 13th century Records of two market places in Kungsbacka date as far back as King Valdemar in 1231 Belonged to Denmark until 1630 In the 12th century Kungsbacka and the whole region of Halland became part of the Danish kingdom A fire destroyed the entire town on a market night in August 1846 The railway between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka opened in 1888 The population began to increase rapidly in the 1960´s Kungsbacka – history in short
