I. Meekness Is Required In Our Relationship With God • 1. God consider this a precious quality • 1 Pet. 3:4 • “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
I. Meekness Is Required In Our Relationship With God • 2. It is necessary to receive God’s word • Js. 1:21 • Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Js. 1:21 NKJV • Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
I. Meekness Is Required In Our Relationship With God • 3. The Christian walk or life requires it • Eph. 4:1-2
Eph. 4:1-2 • I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,[2] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
I. Meekness Is Required In Our Relationship With God • Thus meekness is curbing the "natural" desires to rebel, fight, have our own way, push ourselves forward, etc. We submit to the Lord in obedience to His will.

Gal. 6:1 • Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

III. Meekness Is Required In Our Relationships With Others • Titus 3:1-2 • Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,[2] To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
