  3. History • Patents found from 1947 • Communication technologies ranged from magnetic strips under the road to modern GPS

  4. Benefits • Decreased risk in transportation • Decrease traffic problems • Do not have to drive • Improved technology allows for more accurate and reliable communications between cars

  5. Cons • Expensive to implement • Modern technology will render the rails obsolete • Maybe some people want to drive • Larger versions (Bullet Train in Japan) are more effective means of transportation
