How much is this worth? • In total, S&L counts for 20% of your overall GCSE grade. • Each task, therefore, is worth just under 7%. • This is an EASY way to score valuable marks. • It is also an easy way to LOSE valuable marks.
Can I retake it? • It depends… • If we feel you tried your best, but you didn’t quite fulfil your potential on the day - then YES. • If you don’t try, don’t take it seriously, or just don’t turn up - then NO.
Who will be assessing me? • You will be assessed EITHER by Ms Chiwara and Mrs Ali, OR by Mr Savage and Ms Aswat. • Both teachers will compare their marks and agree on an overall mark and grade. • You will find out your S&L grade in January.
On the day… • Arrive at the prep room in the Technology Block EXACTLY on time. • Do not arrive EARLY as there will be nowhere to wait. • Do not arrive LATE as you will not be allowed to participate. • You should spend 15 minutes QUIETLY preparing for the Drama-Focused Activity. • Read the task carefully. • Decide on your role and prepare for it carefully. • In the exam itself: • Do not allow yourself to be distracted at any time. • Don’t allow yourself to DOMINATE or to BE DOMINATED. • Try your very BEST throughout.
