  14. Rate the book • After I got done I had to think about how I felt about it. In the end I thought the book was good!!! Through 1-10 I would say that it is a 9!

  15. Introduce your social issue • I issue that I picked is Asperger syndrome. • I think that this is a good issue because a lot of people don’t know a lot about it and to make people more aware of what is going on around them.

  16. Aspergers Syndrome • It was named after Hans Asperger • This is a part of the Autistic Spectrum • Neurobiological disorder • Diagnosis was found in 1994 • No two kids that have Aspergers are the same or even have the same symptoms

  17. Actions of Aspergers • Have difficulty interacting socially, repeat behaviors, and often are clumsy • May speak in monotone, and may not respond to other people's comments, emotions, or humor. • They have a hard time with eye contact. • They usually follow a set routine and experience anxiety when this is broken.

  18. Differences • Some children are in mainstream schools where their progress depends on the encouragement of parents, teachers, and classmates. • Most Children that have AS can learn to have a normal life and over come there challenges. • Bothered by a light that no one else notices.

  19. How many families are affected! • Over 400,000 families • It is very difficult to diagnose and treat. • Many kids are diagnosed after age 3, with most diagnosed between the ages of 5 and 9. • 1 out of 100 people are affected with Aspergers Syndrome they might only be on the lower end.

  20. More • They might also begin to have stress for sight, sound, strong smells, or taste. • They like to have a routine in their everyday life • When they like something they end up finding everything about the interest that they have so they can have that one thing in their life that never changes

  21. • They can live a happy life if they can get the help they need • Jobs are something that they have to work up to because it might change there routine but most of the time they end up liking their job • Everyone around can help if they understand even a little more of what they have and to help when ever possible to get them to socialize more
