Visual Sequence • The different places e.g. sky, town, the school, nuclear power plant, supermarket and their home. • The camera starts in the skyand then moves slowly into the town, passing Bart’s school, Lisa’s music lesson, marge and Maggie shopping, homer working in the nuclear power plant and ending at their home where they show a coach gag.
Springfield Shot • In the beginning it shows at a high angle the town, Springfield and ends with the Simpson House • The words “The Simpsons” is shown in the beginning but not them, at the end they are shown rather than the words. • What is Springfield like? • It has: • Nuclear Powerplant • Bart in school • Losa in a music lesson • High Street • Marge at the super market
About The Sound Of The Music In The Title Sequence • When Marge cant find Maggie the music sounds curious which puts the viewer in the mood of curiosity. • The pitch changes frequently • It is a rush hour sort of thing when the bell rings • The style of music is Jazz • When the camera enters the town it is all smooth • It tinkles when Maggie is shown ”Driving” • Mostly quite fast • Right at the beginning it sounds heavenly • Towards the end it is quite loud and blast-like, queuing the ending of the title sequence • Instruments used are It features many instruments including voices, percussion, trumpets, trombones, saxes, flute, other woodwinds and brass and many other percussion instruments. • The music also changes when Lisa appears because she is quite different to all the others in the Simpson’s family. She is intelligent and often understands things that her family don’t. this is what makes her special.
