  4. The Price is Right If you apply now, the following prices will remain the same for your project over a 20 year contract. Price for ground-mounted microFIT projects dropped by 20% on July 2nd, 2010. Expect similar price drops soon.

  5. Register and Apply You register for the microFIT program on the OPA website. You submit your application online. (Or, we can do it for a small fee that we refund later.)

  6. Request to Connect We submit a Request to Connect to the LDC. They respond with a suite of required documents and fees. 1,200.00 + HST We receive Conditional Offer of Contract from the OPA. We will guide you in completing these documents and submitting them to the LDC.

  7. Municipal Permit We apply for and obtain a municipal permit for your project. We are now ready to install the project.

  8. Installation We ensure that you are an active stakeholder in the installation. During or after installation, we apply for an electrical safety inspection from the ESA, who give us authorization to connect.

  9. Operation System commissioning by SolPowered. The OPA sends your Official Contract Offer electronically. The LDC verifies that all documentation and payments have been received and are accurate. We accept the OPA contract and the project is operational!

  10. Payment Schedule You will begin receiving payments for your green energy upon commercial operation. The LDC is responsible for your payments, which correspond with your regular billing cycle. Remember – you will still pay your normal electricity bill. Your FIT program profits are documented separately.

  16. Energy Monitoring Collaborate with the provider on dashboard setup and configuration. Receive remote assistance during your setup. System also provides alarm response management and solution dispatching to keep your system safely operating.
