Stages of Mitosis By: Andrew and Jeffrey
Early Prophase - Duplicated chromosomes transform into X-Shapes - Nucleolus disappears - Nuclear membrane breaks down - Spindle Fibres link to Centromeres
Late Prophase - Spindle Fibres complete forming. - Nuclear Membrane disappears - Chromosomes link to spindle fibres at Centromeres
Metaphase - X-Chromosomes pulled to centre by Spindle Fibres. - Creates a single line at the centre like an equator.
Anaphase - Spindle fibres are pulled back, and become shorter. - Centromeres split apart, into halves. - Chromatids move to opposite sides of the cell.
Telophase - Final stage of Mitosis. - Spindle Fibres begin to disappear. - Nuclear Membrane forms around each set of chromosomes. - Nucleolus in each nucleus. - Cell ready to divide.
