Airborne Internet andVSAT Program Objectives A ubiquitous data link architecture that supports network connectivity among aviation users by employing Open Source or COTS reliant protocols and products to the maximum extent Demonstrate that NASA/ SATS goals can be supported by a single Airborne Internet (AI) data link technology appropriately configured to handle the capacity, integrity and availability requirements of aviation
Simulation and Integration Test Bed Objectivesand Solutions “Establish a facility for air/ground operations that supports physical and remote integration of all capabilities and products to be flown in the 2005 VSAT flight demonstration.”
SIB Development Progression During the early phases of the HITL and PITL trials, some systems, subsystems, and functions may not be needed for a particular test. Simulations may be successfully completed without those items.
