Opportunities of integrating IT solutions in local networks for networks and demand response
Available (and promising) technologies need to secure a harmonized end to end interoperability from individual appliances to business systems
(3) the obstacles that currently impede wider deployment of these solutions and Market-wide, computer-aided planning, control, and transparency of energy supplies Economic organization of a digitized metering system Optimum organization for demand response management Effective communication between market participants Use of economies of scale in customer service and billing
(4) a list of (policy) solutions for discussion at the seminar 1. Full Market Transparency. Ensure energy markets prices are determined by the wholesale markets and secure that these prices guide the retail market to develop energy products according to risk propensity of each and individual customer. 2. End to End interoperability with Central AMI Systems. Secure that smartgrid deployments deliver end to end interoperability from individual appliances to business execution systems across national wide and european wide standardized and centralized metering systems. 3.Develop Demand Response Markets and secure the same price transparency for “Negawhatt” as you do for “Megawatt “ 4. Streamlined, Realtime enabled communication between all market participants so that every and each collaborative business process is executed in seconds instead of days or weeks. This should, in particular, be enabled by a central data exchange hub for each energy market 5.Support the establishment of IT Platforms (like onDemand) to allow New Entrants to participate in the markets and secure reduced OPEX for compliance with dynamic energy market rules
