Moral Issues • America is a Land of immigrants • The nation was built by immigrants • If you are not your ancestors were • Discrimination against Latin Americans • 2nd most discriminated in America • Stereotypes: Drugs, Bad, Steal, Illegal Aliens • 12% are fired due to race • 27% experience homelessness

  5. Should we kick out illegal immigrants • No • Most are contributing to society • Try to live normal life with their families • They know nothing else • Yes • The U.S. can’t support such a large population • Possibilities of drug dealings

Present & Future of Immigration Legislature Current Law • Visas • Employment-based visas, Family-based visas, Temporary-work visas, Student visas, Business visas, Travel visas, Exchange-visitor visas, Intercompany transferee visas, Spouse and fiancé(e) visas, Adopted-child visas • Hard to get for most and most are temporary • Problems • Outdated • Promotes economic/social imbalance and inequality

  7. Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill • Dream Act rejected 10th time • Agreeable to both parties • Stronger border patrol, legalization of undocumented aliens and national registry system for employers / employees
