  3. TAKS Format Question: How has the riverboat pilot’s view of the river changed from the beginning to the end of the selection? ****Be sure to include evidence from the selection to prove your point!!

  4. Why is it difficult to see the river? • What surprised the author as she headed south? • What have some of the downstream towns done to revive their economy? • What have social critics said about the way some towns have re-created the past? • What is the cultural legacy that is honored and explored at the museum?
