  3. Executive Branch • Person: President and Vice President • Can veto (refuse) to sign a law that Congress has passed. • Appoints Judges and Supreme Court. • Makes sure laws and commands are carried out.

  4. Judicial Branch • Person: Supreme Court and other Federal Courts • Can overturn laws against the Constitution. • Can overturn the President’s actions if against the Constitution. • Interprets or decides what laws to publish if following the Constitution.

  5. Legislative Branch • Person: Congress • Makes and establishes laws and taxes. • Can refuse to appoint President’s candidates for judgeship. • Can override President’s refusal.
