  5. NORWEIGIAN RADIO • POPULATION 4,827,038 MILLION • MAINLY MADE UP OF 105 BOYS TO 100 GIRLS RATIO – EVENS OUT at death..! Women live longer here! • NRK is the main network in the country - 1923 it was founded. • About 17 different stations and more….similar to the BBC in its setup. • Dab is popular and • 2017 is complete switch off from FM is absolute!!!!

  6. NORWAY RADIO STATIONS • Radio 1 is probably one of the main stations to challenge to NRK. • Its commercial, focusing on younger markets. • HIT RADIO

  7. NORWAY RADIO STATIONS • SBS RADIO IS ALSO IN THE REGION AND EXPANDING. • WITH COMMERCIAL HIT LEADING THE WAY.

  13. Community Stations • 30 community stations in Sweden. Not as many as Norway. • Sweden’s industries are forestry / iron and steel we this is why we see less rural stations than Norway where fishing and maritime life is essential…..

  14. Denmark Radio Stations • Still trying to figure out what this guy is doing on the boat!!!! • Population of about 5.5 million with Copenhagen as its capital.

  15. DANISH RADIO STATIONS • Major network. Publically funded. Even if you have a laptop or other device capable of getting DR radio and tv you have to pay the license. • Something which may be of interest here in the UK. Do laptops pay a fee now????? Could be the way forward. • 9 radio stations of whIch 4 are on FM an the rest on DAB. • SEXY TIPS FROM DENMARK

  16. LOCAL / COMMUNITY RADIO • DR really has the monopoly in this country broadcasting on all four FM channels. • There are some 250 local and commercial radio station in the country. Quite a lot despite its size. • Radio 100 – Bruno mars.. Coldplay. Rihanna and more. Nova is more Adele, James Morrison - more mellow.

  17. COMMON FACTOR IN ALL 3 • Local is key to these small populations. More so than I have seen in many other countries • No one system is the same although they all have heavy government influence in the media there is still a great amount of free speech and liberalism on air. Perhaps it is the very geography that makes them all so unique.
