Infobesity – What is it? Infobesity – (noun) Being provided or exposed to more information than a person is able to process or use in order to make sensible decisions. Does this presentation suffer from information overload?

Infobesity – The negative effects on you and your job • It can be exhausting! • More equals more and more equals more – What do I Use? • Slows productivity and stifles creative thought – “Data smog” • Time lost/time wasted – Facebook, text messages, phone calls & e-mails • Added stress/pressure – When is enough enough? • Reinforces an atmosphere of doom and gloom – I give up!
Infobesity – Dealing with it • “Turn it off” • “Eat the frog” first thing • Do not multi-task • Get some distance • Learn the ability to just say “no”
Infobesity – Isn’t technology great! “It is important to acknowledge you can’t possibly process all of the information that you are exposed to. You can’t possibly give your complete attention to every issue”. And that’s OK…nobody can
