Estheticians use lots of different type of equipment in their day to day job. Examples of equipment that an esthetician may want to purchase: • Towel Warmers • Tweezers• Facial Tables • Oil and Cream warmer • Steamers • Facial Brushes
• Towel Warmers A towel warmer is a small, cabinet looking item where towels are kept at a certain temperature. Sometimes they are dry, and other times they are damp to get the steam effect that is so relaxing when put on your face or body. • TweezersAn esthetician uses different types of tweezers. Whether it’s pulling out stray facial hairs or ridding your complexion of blackheads there are multiple unique types of tweezers that an esthetician uses daily.
• Facial TablesFacial tables are designed for comfort and relaxation. These type of tables fold up so that they can easily be transported from place to place if necessary. • Oil and Cream Warmer Oil and cream warmers keep things warm for relaxation. It adds to the relaxing effect that you get when you are having a facial or body wrap done so that you don’t have the shock of having cold cream put on your body when everything else has been warm.
• SteamersMost estheticians have small table top steamers that they use during a facial. These steamers are designed to help loosen blackheads and white heads and are part of the relaxing process of a facial. •Facial Brushes There are multiple types of brushes that my esthetician uses on my face during a facial. Some are fan brushes, others look my like a child’s paint brush. However, they all have their purpose and are necessary for any esthetician who uses multiple creams and oils during one facial setting.
While these are just a few of the tools that an esthetician should have, there’s more out there. It is dependant upon whether an esthetician is going to work for a spa that provides most of the equipment of if they are eventually going to go independent and have their own shop. So start collecting things gradually instead of paying everything out of pocket from the start.
