Undeclared Student Program • All admitted Undeclared students are automatically part of the Undeclared Student Program • Components: • Advising sessions • Academic progress monitoring • Major and career exploration* • Financial planning • Personal development and planning* • Peer Mentoring (for selected students) • College Success Seminars

Personal Development and Planning • Advising Portfolio • Purpose: to keep a structured collection of progress, planning tools, achievements, contributions and efforts that demonstrate accomplishments over time. • Academics • Advising • Financial Planning/Management • Major/Career Exploration • Goals and Reflections • Peer Mentoring (if applicable) • Other

Highlights of the Advising Portfolio • Advising sessions with advisors run much smoother because students bring all pertinent information for productive comprehensive advising, hence, students gain more from the advising experience • Students stay organized and can easily access information when needed (for our purposes as well as for other departments and themselves) • Students develop and maintain structured plans for accomplishing goals through college and beyond

Highlights of the Major Card Sort • Help undecided students to learn about all majors at CPP and to narrow down their interests (at least to eliminate majors they are sure to have no interest in) • Different areas/departments on campus can refer students to complete the Major Card Sort Online activity (useful tool for declared but undecided students) • Students can complete the activity from anywhere they have access to internet (home, library, coffee shop, another country) • Other departments/areas can create their own instructions page and add the Major Card Sort Online link for selected groups of students to complete the activity
