  4. The Process • Unit Policy – Outlining Comdts Commitment • UECD & Regular Meetings Held (Minutes produced) • MEI – Qualified REME Personnel – Unit Responsibility • ECI – Land Army Team – Annual Inspection (Graded)

  5. ECI • Annual assessment of a unit’s equipment care and management systems. • Carried out by ECI Team on behalf of AD Eqpt Plans. • Contributes to a unit’s MFP assessment. • Ensures that units are carrying out MEI effectively and advises on how to improve their standards of equipment care. • Monitor standards of equipment care, repair and inspection.

Important Bits • Audit Trail • Record of Training • Programming of Equipment Care (Weapon Cleaning on Company Weekends) • Education (Notice Boards and Training) • Record of Faults and Correct Procedures • Record of Checks and Correct Procedures • Record of Cleaning (Book and Company Checks) • Stores & Equipment Checks – CAA’s Monthly, OC’s quarterly and Snap Checks (Paperwork for Audit)

  7. Mandatory Equipment Inspection (MEI) • It embraces all required L1 and L2 inspections. • MEI frequency will depend on the type of Equipment held. • Cadet GP A2 – 12monthly • Other Weapon systems 6 monthly (No. 8) • The responsibility for ensuring MEI is carried out on time, and by appropriately qualified personnel, is vested in the CO. • MEI is not in itself a legal requirement, but our Duty of Care is. • In agreement with VOSA, the annual MEI of a vehicle is equivalent to an MOT.

  8. Weapon Inspection’s • Lt Pepper will now cover a number of the main areas when it comes to inspecting the weapons
