  2. PATIENT INFORMATION Dr Watson and Dr Jones will be leaving the practice this summer We have been very lucky to have appointed two excellent Clinical Practitioners to support the GPs Andrew Toogood and Denise Farrow will be joining us in July

  3. PATIENT INFORMATION Please read our June patient newsletter for the most up to date information This is your practice and we want to keep our patients informed Please use the friends and family forms in the waiting room to give feedback

  4. Patient’s GP • In the past all patients had a named GP and saw that GP only • From this summer although patients will have a named GP, they will be seen by any of the clinicians available as appropriate to their current need

  5. How you can help your practice • Consider seeking advice from a pharmacist for minor illnesses • Allow the receptionists to make the most appropriate appointment for your condition • Please give as much information as possible

  6. Confidentiality • It is very important that patients feel able to tell the receptionists the reason for their visit to the practice • Please be assured that ALL staff at the practice sign a confidentiality policy • Nothing that is seen, heard or discussed can be repeated outside of the practice

  7. Restricted Prescribing List GPs have been asked to reduce their prescribing of the following medicines ;-

  8. Restricted Prescribing List • Pain killers for minor aches and pains • Soluble pain killers • Hay fever preparations • Cough and cold remedies • Lozenges, throat sprays and gargles • Treatments for minor acnes • Indigestion remedies

  9. Restricted Prescribing List • Barrier creams for nappy rash • Head lice lotions and shampoos • Threadworm tablets • Athlete’s foot creams and powders • Bath additives for minor dry skin conditions • Soya milks • Sun creams for sensitive skins

  10. Restricted Prescribing List • Treatments for non-serious constipation and diarrhoea • Ear wax treatments • Slimming preparations • Creams, gels and tubigrip for sprains and sports injuries • Travel medicines • Gluten Free foods

  11. Restricted Prescribing List Self help and Advice leaflets are available from the Waiting Room

  12. 170 appointments were missed during May • Use your 10 minute appointment with the GP wisely – prioritise your needs • Cancel any appointments you no longer need

  13. Check in screen • Why not avoid the queue at reception and use the check in screen? • Please ask for help if needed

  14. Practice closure for essential GP and staff training The Practice will be closed on the following days- Tuesday 2nd June 1-2pm Please telephone the surgery for GP on call Wednesday 24th June 1-6.30pm Should you require medical advice please telephone NHS 111
